Businesses are not in business to create employment opportunities
they are in business to make money. And the way you make money is by producing more with fewer employees. HP did not create the business climate that rewards companies for off shoring. But they have to live with it. They are in a fiercely competitive business that is about to become much more fierce now that the Chinese have taken on IBMs PC business. Over the last quarter their stock has been marching steadily upward. They must be doing something right for the stockholders.
