If they can improve energy utilization by using stuff like this to find new scientific breathroughs, then more power to them.

Will this increase the number of wind generators?
No, but if this lets them make wind generators more efficient, then that's all to the good.

Will it build more Sterling Engines?

Does it relieve the nuclear waste problem?
No, but it may let them literally look at new ways of dealing with radioactive waste.

Does it make a barrle of oil cheaper?

My bad, I thought the Department of Energy would deal with, well, energy...
