Cost/benefit ratio? Does it cost more than it's worth?

Cost? Maintenance? Terrorism? Forgive me, ye all of blind faithe, but our corporate society demands that the benefit outweigh the cost by a considerable margin. After all, those $150 Doc Martens cost $3 to make in China...

If the benefit of solar is too slim, they will not buy into it. $150k for a city's worth of land? They will not buy it.

Personally, I prefer that society do what is necessary, but that won't happen.
