British accent???
You must be kidding me. Most of Indian folks I work with (and trust me in financial business we have many of them) do not show much sign of British accent (I am telling that as an European who learned really British English at age about 9... and at age about 23 switched to American English). The only sign of British "accent"with Indian folks is pronounciation of "can't". Don't try to fool public, DonnieBoy.

However, Indian folks I work with are quite well understandable even with their native accents. That's just a matter how much they want to be understand and improve on communication. We all make mistakes in this non-native language, but we may be very well understood even making those mistakes.

I also met several Indian folks (and one intervied me) and they sounded like they really needed to brush up on their English skills. Totally not understandable and many of them try to cover spots they are incompetent with fast talking with extremely bad pronounciation.

So don't tell folks in India learn British English. It may have been like that some decades ago when it was a Britich colony, but those who did not graduate from British or American schools theses days seem to have a real problem with this language.
