You forget how we in the US got where we are!
First off, we in the US forget how we got where we are! We became industrialized in a time when there were many people who were taken advantage of, who worked in sweatshops, and many, many others in foreign lands on whos back our industrial revolution took place (think of the suppliers of raw material like cotten, jute, sugar, etc).

All that countries like India and China are doing, is going through a mixed and fast-paced version of the revolution that we went through in the US many decades ago.

I think it's patently unfair to impose the labor and environmental laws that we have now, as a by-product of being an industrialized nation, on nations that are going through a revolution that even in the United States, was dirty, paid poorly, and exploitative as well.

For a long time, we've used the developing nations of the world as a source of raw materials, thus enslaving their people to a harsh agrarian life. Why are we so non-plussed when we realize that their wages are lower than ours, and annoyed when they attempt to move into the new economy, what we like to think of as 'our economy'.

Of course, India, China and Brazil can't have the same wages as us; And they will complain in much the same way that US employers balk at giving us in the US the same benefits as workers in Europe.

In far, there's a better issue to raise arms and wail about -- why do we, in the US, and industrialized nation as advanced as any in Europe, have fewer labor rights, longer work hours, and worse benefits? Why pick on the lowest common dinominator, when we should really be asking why we're not enjoying the same labor rights as other COMPRABLE nations.
