McNealy did not blame M$
The previous append doesn't have much relationship to what's reported in the article.

Scott McNealy said there were some things Sun needed to do better. Some quality problems needed fixing. Some messages needed to be shouted louder; e.g. the price/performance of the x86 servers called V60 and V65 is better than Dell.

But is was also a quarter of two distinct parts; in the first two months, 40% of the business came in, versus 60% in the last month. In other words, three times the revenue rate in September versus August and July. To some extent that's seasonal but not all; it implies a positive ramp up of volumes way above the seasonal effect.

Things may be tough for a while for Sun but they've shown they can survive and they plan to thrive.
