- Actually, AMD and Intel are chip makers, not computer makers. That said, they create processors that are used in some of the fastest supercomputers. I don't know any specific AMD case, but SGI Columbia (51,7 teraflops, if I remember well) uses about 10,240 Intel Itanium processors.
