It's just business
The RIAA members have it good today.

They can make the music and use P2P to promote it. That's good good for them. So they get free promotion out of it while at the same time they get an increase in cash from Blank CD levies. To put icing on the cake they can threat legal extortion to get people to pay a few thousand dollars here and there. I highly doubt that the RIAA wants to loose thier current cash cow. They get money for nothing, they don't even have to follow due process get the money.

If SCO and the RIAA can generate revenue in huge amount from legal threats then there is no need for a product or service anymore. No need for employees as the stock holders can just enjoy profits from the legal threats. Lawyers are the only employees you need.
