SGI supercomputer: Two records in one day

SGI innovators: SGI make a name for itself by making the fastest graphics systems - and they were fast! After the near-death experience with the Cray aquisition, SGI COULD have just packed it in. Pixar and other big customers were moving to Linux, and the server industry got VERY tight. So what did SGI do? They INNOVATED, and beat HP to the Itanic punch! let this be an example of how embracing open standards (Linux) and commodity parts (Itanic?) can be done profitably.
