Hey Roger, you have a 32-bit box?
Although there is a power boost to runing Win32 on an AMD64, I think that it would be more bang for the Buck to run your Win32 on a 32-bit box and load *nix on the 64-bit box.

Winxx has never played well with AMD and always due to flaws in Windows that MS or AMD ussually patches. Linux and BSD always played well with AMD and should be considered for this reason alone --i.e., that Windows does not until patched which, as has been stated above, exists in SP2-- but mostly for the fact that 64-bit OSes were designed for 64-bit processors. Your *nix will scream compared to a comparable 32-bit benchmarked 32-bit processor.

I.e., If you had used a 32-bit OS with 32-bit benchmarks to benchmark a 32-bit and a 64-bit system and they came up even steven, then load 32-bit *nix on the 32-bit system and 64-bit *nix on the 64-bit system then the 64-bit system will vastly outpace the 32-bit system.

Now consider Windows 32-bit Macro kernel versus Linux 64-bit pseudo-micro kernel** on a 64-bit box. Okay, 'nuff said. Try considering a 64-bit micro kernel also and that if you compile your own kernel with Gentoo Linux or whatever, you can make your Linux a true micro keernel.

...Unless, of course, that by waiting on, "A64 support to be more available," you meant waiting for Win64, then that would make sense --assuming that Winxx makes sense at all as it does to some.

** Granted, many consider that Linux is a micro kernel and others say not quite so. I am not taking sides in this issue rather I am conceding to the pseudo-micro kernel case so as to drive home the point. If my point stands here then it stands even more for those who descent to the premise and claim a true micro kernel. No need to argue that point.
