Offering AMD systems will dilute the value of the existing Intel systems Dell sells as well as confuse their customers. Dell already sells cheap Intel systems, why dilute the value of those systems and confuse their customers by offering value AMD systems. Most people buying from Dell don't have an IT person to direct them on what to purchase.

And its fine by me, I can continue to build, configure, and sell AMD solutions. Most people I build for are people looking to buy their second computer and DON'T want another Dell or HP that comes loaded with excess software.

Dell is the classic bait and switch shop.
