Hard sell at some shops
X-Serves will probably be a hard sell in Linux shops where most of the Mac advantages but the raw horsepower of the G5s is already available.

But they are already fitting into render farms and special applications like the COLSA cluster and more will surely follow. x86 clusters can't come close to the price/performance of the G5 systems at this time.

And if small - medium businesses are smart they will chose X-Serves over Windows small business servers for the vastly increased security and reliability. And the big licensing cost savings should be a nice bonus.

At the very least, the X-Serves should help Apple maintain their very profitable corner of the market.
