Monkey see monkey do!
Very few large corporation innovate. They do have the money and the vision to see what others have innovated and if those innovations are worthwhile. Then they have the capitol to bring those innovations to the market place where every other corporation will mimic them.

It's the way of things. From tech, to Music, Movies, drugs, food, and anything else you see. Take fast food for example. One comes out with idea, like a burger with chipotole south west sauce then every other place does the same.
