Absolutely! Walmart has the best return policy of anybody
As you said, the difference in qualtity between name brand and generics is negligible. But don't think that quality is poor just because it comes from Walmart. Furthermore, PC hardware becomes obsolete so fast that there's no need to pay a lot to get industrial strength quality anyway.

Walmart will stand behind anything they sell, especially if it's got their name on it. Don't believe me? Go stand in line at Walmart's return desk in January and look at the stuff people return after Christmas. They take back toys that have clearly been used and abused.

I even saw Walmart take back a battery that "didn't fit" the purchasers portable phone. The battery had been removed from its packaging. It could have been the old dead battery that the user was returning.

I buy my car batteries from Walmart for the very reason that if anything goes wrong I know Walmart will take it back without an argument. No questions asked. I know because I had to do it once. The quality of Walmart's batteries are as good as anybodys. Why wouldn't it be? Suppliers are competing for Walmart's business because of the huge volume they sell.
