Alternative fuels...
...are a trick. We've heard there's enough natural gas to last a 1,000 years--and now we barely have enough to make it through a winter. We've heard various solar themes for who knows how long and gotten nothing--rember when amorphous silicone was going to make the solar cell a practical source of electricity? Remember in the 70's when our virtually infinite supply of shale oil would save us when prices got high enough? Heard from the shale oil industry lately? Wind power? NIMBY, NIMBY even in the sprawling Kansas deserts. Geothermal? Hah! The sulfur makes coal a piker!
