Scientific American did an article a few months ago on the best technology in terms of pollution and economy. The diesel-electric hybrid won (already doing this with trains). The gasoline-hybrid came in second place. WAY down the list was hydrogen (20% energy of gas per equiv volume, generated in VERY polluting ways).
What I am wondering about is this: Years ago, I was led to believe that alcohol cars were not feasable UNTIL gasoline broke the $2/gallon mark.
