Well, if the kid wrote this app all by himself - that is impressive, and I would not want to take anything away from that. But there is some interesting data out there, comparing early versus late bloomers, e.g., looking at so called "wonder" kids that have a Phd while still in their teens, and what happens to them later in life: nothing. Relentlessly pushed by their parents "look how smart my kid is", they are burned out when they reach their 20-ties, never having a chance to be a goofy kid doing stupd things and having a lot of fun doing it. It is during this period of unstructured play that kids experiment and develop the inherent creativity inside that will serve them for the rest of their lives.
