That's because..
..Republican Christians are Christian conservatives, those that interpret the Bible very literally and those that tend to wage jihads based on their literally interpreted beliefs. He is pointing the finger specifically at the Republican Christians because they are the ones that are in power now, and thus have the greatest effect over whether legislation would get passed swatting down RFID. If the Democrats were in power I'm sure he'd be pointing the finger at them. Laff does not seem so petty as you are interpreting..
