Actually with the IBM Blades your cabling is quite a bit better off. You can use internal switches for ethernet and fiber and support upto 14 blades.

If you consider doing redundant ethernet and redundant fiber connections for 14 blades, you can connect 14 servers with 2 cat5 cables, instead of 30 cables (2 connections x 14 blades + 1 uplink per switch). That reduces your cabling by 93%!

If you're doing the same with fiber, then you not only save on your cabling but you can also reduce the cost of the SFP GBICs too.
