I think you now have 1 zero too many; should be 10,000,000. (200 million/20) In any case, we're really taking it out hard on the chickens. This is part of being the superior species with the natural mandate to protect itself. (Uh...)

If feeding supplies, livestock, and people weren't so mobile, we wouldn't be spreading nasty bio-matter so quickly. (Nasty to us, that is.)

In addition to being security check points, airports and seaports are increasingly going to have to be national bio-filters. It probably is already part of the role of Homeland Security, but mainly as it relates to bio-terrorism. (Presumably, Health and Human Services, Agriculture, and other departments are involved.) But even if we could all live in peace, we'd still have this problem.

We really ought to be better stewards of the only planet we have. How, of course, is the great debate. Meanwhile, a self-sustaining isolated population on another planet is a bit of insurance against geo-stupidity.
