- RE: Nice to see

I think what they meant is close as in like 40-50 miles away. Close in like the State of NJ is about 4-5 miles away. Most european countries do not have anything near the population densities that we do.
Plus, respectively speaking, I think AMD is doing a better job of putting a quality product out there then Intel. I base this on the fact that AMD is pretty well focused into what areas they are going to tackle and stick to their guns.
I can agree that Intel can be cutting edge, but they are jumping around in so many markets that it's hard to figure out what the devotion is really going to.
"It's great to see AMD moving forward into 300mm and 65-nanometer. I believe Intel is already using 300mm and 90-nanometer (not for all products, but for some), so it can be nothing but good for AMD to keep up with their main competitor.
One issue of concern to me is that they're building the two Fabs so close together. Is this standard practice? A lot of what I've read about other companies is that they want geographic diversity just in case of natural disaster or something like SARS. Does anyone know where AMD's other Fabs are?" - Posted by: ajapierce Posted on: 11/20/03 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
