Doesn't Apple Xserver BITE?
If I can get a G5 processor in an Apple server, and I can get the same one in an IBM eServer - why would I get the Apple? The best part of an Apple is its interface with the human. Its form as well as function. An Apple Xserver is an impersonal box in a rack, with a CLI, and ONLY running numerical computations. ACK! Apples should be ENJOYED - not put in a dark closet!

After SGI sold Cray at a 90% loss to ITSELF (+ a consortium), Cray was finally able to start engineering solutions. Interesting that they chose Linux over UNICOS (Cray Unix). Now they are just another Opteron box in a (getting very) crowded market. I don't see how they can compete - but who knows what name recognition will do for them. I wish them all the best . . .
