All vendors make the same "pie-in-the-sky" claims about saving you money. This Hype only lasts as long as the time it takes to validate the claims. Once the claims are shown to be invalid (2-3 years), only adding "spin" can keep the Hype going. HP sux at spin, so it had to change the Hype. The NEW Hype is blades.

Most datacenters are built around the concept of many machines, spread out over a large room. The cooling and electric and network infrastructure is set up to support that. When you bring in blades - and their higher density - your datacenter design is all wrong! With blades you need more powerfull cooling, big electric cables, and MANY network cables (2 SAN, 2-3 enet PER blade) - all within the space of a refrigerator. Its ALMOST undo-able! So THIS is HP's new direction . . .
