You know those old legacy systems and applications cant rule the throne forever. MS and the wintel world have fully penetrated the emterprise market. Get use to it because it will only continue to grow, and users want it. Plus it is standardizing hardware, drivers etc and bringing costs down.
The only ones complaining are developers and network folks that have been working on old proprietary systems and hardware for the last 15 years. Maybe linux will be more on your comfort level.
