- Sun only made a profit due TO Microsoft

Let us not forget that the only reason that Sun Microsystems made a profit for the last quarter was due to the large settlement check from Microsoft.
If you subtract the Microsoft revenue from their profits, you will realize they had lost 169 Million dollars. It was one of their worst quarters ever.
