Translation...Cometition is a good thing.

Yes there will be choices. What will that do to Apple? Well with
any luck and boping that Apple/Steve has learned from the past
Apple will do anynumber of things. Continue to innovate the
iPod and take advantange of cheeper (not low quality mind you)
but the cheeper components as they become available...ie
cheeper hard drives as they become mass produced and such.

If Apple in the end can not comete....so be it.

Howver I think Apple has not (this time) been sitting on her
hands. My humble prediction is that there are iPod models in
the works or even now ready to be brought to market that will
compete with at least some of these others on a feature for
featurre and price for price basis. I don't think Apple will want
to get into the pure commodity business...and if it comes to that
I hope and approve of Apple getting out of said. Still as long as
there is decent money to be made....I think Apple will fight it
out.

By the by..I know there are a lot of cheaper alternatives out
there...but for my birthday I purchased myself the new iMac G5
with the 20" wides screen and put a gig of memory into her.
After all who doesn't like 20"?
