400 Bucks
When the cost of digital sets drop to 400 dollars for about 27" screens, and I can use them without an external tuner, and my current televisions no longer work. THEN and only then will I consider buying one.

The old movies that I prefer look the same in HD, and I could care less how the talking heads on the news appear. (It's bad enough just listening to them talk, especially when they are "rather biased").

I've been a geek since before the name became popular but I just don't see any reason to spend a lot of money on these sets. Television is still a "vast wasteland". It's just spread over a few hundred more channels.
