market share is important
More market share = better software

Sure most of the major titles that are available for Windows are available for the Max, however the quaility is not always the same. Case in point, the latest MX2004 suite from Macromedia runs slower on my 1.8 G5 (with a gig of RAM) then it does on my old 1 Ghz PIII (with only 512MB of RAM).

Did I mention that the MAC version is buggier and doesn't have all the features of the Windows version?
