The problem with these corporate guys is that they perceive themselves as being in control. They can't fathom the fact that the internet was nobody's to start with, and that it is already build upon distributed networks. Distributed processing scales beautifully. You dont need to reinvent the wheel because it isn't asthetically appealing, or because it can't be monopolized by any one entity.
