Why?
Hey Van,

Good question. Maybe it's the same kind of mentality that drives any kind of "tomato throwing". Some of it, I think, is just pettiness and/or people having nothing better to do than to be critical. Some of it is just plain old jealousy - jealousy of the person/company/team/whatever who's the leader.

I don't follow the excruciating details of what the chip manufacturers / Microsoft are doing like I might have a few years ago - my brain doesn't have the bandwidth (anymore? ) to keep up with all of this. However my opinion of both Microsoft and Intel is pretty much the same. Those two companies constituted the "front lines" of technology innovation in the PC industry since the early 1980's. Obviously if they hadn't done it this industry might have developed based on the technology of some other company or companies. If that had happened the other companies who developed the technology would be the targets of the "tomatoes".

All of this technology is cool - and it's very interesting to watch it develop. Must we spend all our time on these forums being critical? Constructive criticism is fine - but the flame-throwing that goes on here is just plain unprofessional and, quite frankly, asenine. One would think that there are mostly high-school kids posting here to read the content.
