AMD has the lead
If this is a "Race" then AMD has a nice head start. I guess it helps that AMD designed the Athlon 64/Opteron with dual cores in mind and intel is going to have to fabricate a second core onto its existing processor and hope that it works. This is the 2nd thing in the past few years intel has been behind on. The first one was X86-64 and now Dual Core. I can't wait to see the wattage requirements for Intel's Dual Core processors. As it stands now, the P4's/XEONS already require a lot more wattage than their AMD competitors. And lets not forget about the heat. I guess Intel will go into the "Easy Bake Oven" market. Just add a compartment into a 5 1/4 external bay to make an individual chocolate cake while you play your games or surf the net. Mmmmm Mmmm Good.
