Compare the installation and maintenance effort of say 10 Linux 10 Windows workstations.
We use RH 9.0 Linux and we spent some time UP FRONT ONLY to set it up to fit our needs. This can take just 1 day for FULL installs. We DO NOT HAVE TO SPENT ANY MORE TIME for maintenance. The systems stay up for months and reboot is needed only when kernel is upgraded (an infrequent event)
How much time do you have to spent to SET UP and maintain the 10 windows PCS? How mcu effort you need to KEPP REPATCHING THEM OVER AND OVER and HOW MUCH IS YOUR DOWN TIME when they get compromissed ny some idiotic virus and you need to clean them up or even re-install them?
My advice: start learning Linux, 'cause your VB "skills" wont be any necessary in the future.:)
