RE: READ THE STORY, PEOPLE!
I pretty much agree with you on all points. I'd like to add a few:

3) Athlon is much different from the Opteron, the difference is the L2 cache.
4) The Athlon 64 is the first chip able to handle dual processing, that being 32-bit or 64-bit. Which is a bonus, because where you see MAC OS X using Classic 9 is becuase of the 32-bit to 64-bit applications can't run at the same time, so they have to use a emulator.
5) The key note to the article is true: "PC maker to offer the 64-bit capable chip in the United States" with the important notice on their of "PC maker" not "MAC maker" which, is a RISC based chip not a x86 based chip.
6) I'm glad to see diversification, becuase i don't think in the near future you will a Pentium 4 - 64 bit chip, or not atleast a dual process chip. So it's nice to know that you have alternatives out there.

"The PC giant will announce on Monday plans to offer a Compaq Presario 8000Z desktop with Advanced Micro Devices' Athlon 64 3200+ processor, making it the first major PC maker to offer the 64-bit capable chip in the United States. HP acquired Compaq last year and uses the brand name on some machines. >>
1)The story refers to the Athlon 64 3200+, NOT the opteron.
2) The story clearly states that HP is the first major PC maker to use THE(Athlon 64 3200+) chip in the US. The claim was not made to be the first 64 bit chip by a major PC maker.
Get a grip, read before you rip!!!"
