I just think it puts to bed the generalized false claims that Macs are "too expensive and too slow". For machines of equal value, Macs hold up quite well. (ie, the regularly touted $700 home-made doesn't hold a candle feature for feature)

The Dr. in charge at VT had the option of choosing others (Dell apparently lost out due to higher cost and less performance) but went G5 despite it apparently being his first experience with the Mac (ie, he's not a "Mac zealot" or even used one).

Listings show the BigMac was "self-made" vs using "IT" (IBM/HP/etc) which is another feather in the cap... assembled in a few months (fraction of normal time) at a fraction of the typical cost and by a butch of pizza-munching do-it-yourselfers happy

Not too shabby for the here and now.
