the article i read said that most other people who build super computers calculate their price based on the total construction costs. Not to mention most of them are using Zeons... which are considerably more expensive than G5's.
It is a good win for Apple/IBM, but i don't think it will change the grand scheme of things that much. it's similar to when AMD was destroyign Intel for a while, then Intel came back really strong... then AMD came back... it's a continuous race. It's nice when your camp is in the lead, but dont' assume that the rasce is over.
