big deal. they put part of their design in an FPGA then labeled it "reconfigurable". That's just marketing BS.

What it really means it theat they are afraid they still have bugs in the chip. ITs unlikely that they would ever use FPGA for a different purpose because the pads are hardwired to the board and can't be reconfigured. Its connected to the communication ports, its fixed to that purpose no matter if you can reprogram it to do something elese. Its highly unlikely they would ever reprogram the FPGA to do an different job.

Network routers use racks of reconfigurable FPGA's. when was the last time you heard of them being reprogrammed to do a different job other than routing?
