But not effectively.
The software has to be optimized for hyperthreading to outshine the AMD. Read the tests results:
http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/0,39023100,39164010-1,00.htm

I have never seen any chip just die. Any dead chip I have seendied of abuse (and that includes the many dead Intel chips) but of functioning, non overclocked chips, AMD has always rocked the socks off of Intel. Remember floating point? LOL.

Speaking of memory bus, did you know why AMD with 400MHz DDR beat Intel with 533MHz DDR2? Oh, did you know that that was how the test was done and AMD beat Intel anyway? Superior Northbridge on chip at CPU speeds, not FSB speeds.

Likewise, the AMD ran AGP, the Intel ran PCI-E. Why did AMD outshine Intel (in all except programs optimized for hyperthreading, SSE2 and 16 additional instructions)? Superior Northbridge on chip at CPU speeds.

AMD chips are better designed and with software optimized for each chip, outruns Intel. With un-optimized software, outruns Intel.

Intel CPU's suck because they have sucky technology in them. 3D-NOW! beets SSE2. AMD64 instructions beat Intel Prescott instructions. AMD on-chip northbridge beats Intel 800MHz FSB.

Intel chips suck! Do you use ony Windows? If you do, they may be arguably comprable. If you don't then AMD rocks!
