You must have a bad ISP. I've been on VOIP for 1.5 years and 99% of my calls are perfect. In fact, they are a lot better than my former POTS line. I remember when I first went VOIP, I had to turn the volume down on all of my phones. There's far less background noise and the clarity just can't be matched by POTS.

Get a new ISP or get a new VOIP provider if you've tried it and have that many problems. No way is it like a cell phone.
