Ask how much it would cost to have it replaced after the warranty period.

Good luck getting an answer. This is the question the LCD industry fears the most, and they will do anything the can to not answer it.

If you push hard enough, you'll be told it can't be replaced, and you have to buy a whole new panel at a cost that sometimes exceeds what a new one will cost.

And backlights are by far the #1 failure item on LCD displays and Laptops.
