I suppose that if
you haven't anything better to spend your money on, like "real time with your kids," with the TV OFF, then these toys might look attractive.

Since there is nothing ON TV, and there hasn't really been anything ON TV for several years, that would explain why it has taken so long for the numbers of sales to climb this high, and the prices to drop this low.

But, the prices should drop even faster now, not because of the large LCD panels coming on the market, but because some of the smaller manufacturers were smart enough NOT to invest in large, expensive plants to make Plazma and LCD panels, and will start soon making VERY inexpensive, and VERY superior OLED panels.

The OLED technology is just about ripe, now, and it is VERY likely to surplant Plazma and LCD, both, in short order.

Now, wouldn't that be a surprize for all those big companies who spent millions building plants that are dedicated to Plazma.

I understand that the newest of the LCD plants can be quickly converted to OLED, so they might be hedging their bets.

We will see. I just hope there is something ON TV worth watching when the OLED comes of age. They have the probability and posibility of making both Plazma and LCD look dismal, by comparison. Those two can't even come close when it comes to resolution and color, and the price of large OLED screens is vastly lower.
