I never implied that AMD isn't a good value or a bad choice. Just that AMD has a long ways to go to be considered as sucessful as Intel.

As for the marketing thing, millions of people have seen primetime intel ads or dell ads featuring intel based pc's. The point is that most people who are clueless will go with what they know, and most people don't know about AMD.

In fact, AMD has offered better value for years. Nobody stopped buying dell pc's despite this fact.
