AMD sneaks strained silicon into chips

We are not a big cpu purchaser, at $1 mil a year.
But we do look for the best equipment to run
our models. Even though I am an AMD fan, I would
reccommened an Intel processor system in a minuted
if I thought it saved money. Our testing switched
us to AMD Opterons, for our modeling needs.
Since we are switching to Opteron, Dell/intel are losing our money that is now spent on another
company. Intels marketing dollars can't buy us
back until they make a CPU that runs our models
faster than a Opteron 248. And based on our
testing, Intel will need a P4EE running at 4.5ghz
to do that. I don't see that happening soon,
do you?
Trying to spend your tax dollars wisely.
