But I like My Eraser Head!
I have discovered that the ThinkPad eraser head "track pad" int the middle of the keyboard is a simple elegant design. I hated it at first, too. But I've been using my ThinkPad for three years now and I use it more than the track pad. It has a greater plane to scroll (considering the track pad it pitifully small) and the buttons on top of the track pad are placed perfectly for your thumbs to use for scrolling and clicking. I have carpel tunnel syndrome and that little eraser head is much easier on the wrists since it is higher up on the unit than the track pad, especially when using it in your lap. Most of this stuff is opinion, but a lot of it has some truth.
