Sears Vs. Best Buy
They're not quite trying to compete with Best Buy in the way you're implying (specifically: Best Buy does not produce and market its own brand of electronics; its a supplier), they're trying to do to their consumer electronics division what Craftsman and the other sears names (can't remember what else they own..isn't Kenmore one of them?) does for their hardware division. And, quite frankly, if they can provide electronics with quality or warranties rivalling the Craftsman brand (at least in hand tools), it just might work.
