- They want to be what they used to be a long time ago. Remember, in the old days you could buy everything from the Sears catalog, from baby beds to coffins (now you can buy those at Costco). We have a Sears Grand Central near where I live and it is like a Walmart with better decorations. Lots of appliances and electronics and glossy fixtures, but the Sears store brand doesn't mean what it used to...
