What?
Patent Law has been in need of serious repair for years.

The intent of patents was originally to protect the original inventors right to be first to market with NEW AND INNOVATIVE inventions, and allow an adequate period of time for the patent applicant to do so, in order to be an impetus to invention and technological improvement. It was never meant to stifle competition, only to goive the inventor a reasonable head start on copy cats. Unfortunately, we've allowed patent and copyright law to become a noose around the neck of competition and a ralying cry of the monopolists.

Simply adding LED's to a computer (Even fancy, color controlable ones) does not warrant a patent!

Remember the Tri-Fold posterboard displays we used for science fairs and such as kids? Do you know that a Corrugate Manufacturer applied for AND WAS AWARDED a patent for it? Should be a public domain idea, eh?

Well, Im submitting a patent for the process of the exothermic combination of oxygen and other ambient gases with dessicted plant fibers and other carboniferous materials. I'm gonna call it medezarks yellow stuff. And Im gonna sue the pants off of all you guys using it! And Im gonna make you call it medezarks yellow stuff!

That's right Im gonna get a patent on fire and rule the world! The patent offices would apparently grant it without a second thought.

(heck, they gave Microsoft a patent on a new breed of apple tree! and Ol' Bill never even applied for it!)

Patent and Copyright law is broken!
