- No, thanks, my TV/Stereo work fine. MS Windows doesn't.

Why on earth would any consumer want digital convergence?
What is the upside? Is it the monthly subscription charges? Is it the restrictive DRM? Is it the system freezes and crashes? Is it the inevitable barrage of viruses? How about the spy-ware and ad-ware? Which of these makes convergence a "good thing"?
My TV and Stereo work perfectly. Every time I switch them on they work; every single time. I could NEVER say that about MS Windows, or Linux, or OS-X. Heck, computers just aren't "consumer appliances" yet.
If IT Professionals can't even get MS Windows to run MS Office stably; why should I believe that they can handle *critical* functions like music and television?
Convergence may come someday, but it won't be until the computer makers clean up their collective act and generate safe and reliable code. Given the barely alpha crap-ware that ALL software vendors ( MS, Apple, Oracle, Peoplesoft, etc... ) release to market as final production code, I doubt I will see it in my lifetime.
Digital convergence is just another market for them to plunder; it offers NOTHING to the consumer.
