Surprisingly, it happened before version 3!

Just like any PC-based media center you need to turn on the PC (what did you expect from that kind of device!?!?!?).

If you leave the Autoplay option on you don't have to turn on the TV or monitor.

Ah, I almost forgot. No mouse needed with Media Center, it comes with the remote. The same can be said of MSI Media Center Deluxe II (MSI sucks, but that's another story) or from most Media Center-like packages.

I've been trying Windows Media Center for a while on two PCs but I'm waiting for an HDTV version to make it the hub of my entertainment center.
