Gimme (actually I really sincerely with all my heart couldn't care less, but it sounds good I guess) a break....

Talk about a blatant over-reaction to something.

I read the article and I fail to see anything wrong here on ZDNET.

Linux uses NX -- that's great. But, and though it may seem like it I swear this isn't meant to be sarcastic sounding ---- is EVP the same thing as NX? If it is, why would they call it differently?

This article talks about EVP won't be in use on Opteron until Windows Sever 2003 SP 1. So? What's the big deal, they are just telling folks the skinny.

On the Microsoft centric reporting....

(1) Its no secret Microsoft advertises with ZDNET...heavily in fact. If it's cool or not cool to be for or against Microsoft --- ZDNET is a business, the goal of business is to turn a profit before anything else. Hate to tell you, I know Linux is the "cool thing" and Windows is "not cool" to like or use right now...but if the money is Microsoft -- Microsoft is what I'm supporting. If the money switches to Linux, Linux is my hero. Its not religion, its not betrayal of church and state -- we are talking our careers/jobs and lastly a piece of software. I work IT because its a field I enjoy, and if we have to work until we are 70 -- might as well do something you like...beyond that I just go where the money is. Its just work.

(2) Of course you read a ton about Microsoft, its still the most used platform (BY FAR) in the WORLD. It kind of just makes common sense at a general tech news site you'd read mostly about Windows. Just like it makes sense at a Apple news site you read about Apple, at a Linux site you read mostly about Linux.

Finally, they write about Linux -- but since its a generalist kind of site they only run the more significant stories on Linux.
