- I know its a convient way to express "it doesnt work now but will when such and such happens," but they are just confusing the issue by talking about switches. You need both the cpu and the OS to support it or there is no effect. Simple as that. MS isnt making changes to your cpu, your cpu isnt installed with features disabled. Well, maybe it is, but this isnt one of them. Heck, you dont even need annything MS for it to work. Red Hat;s Fedora 2 supported it well before SP2 came out.
